Poignant Day….

I’ve been taking pause in a season that is perplexing and vibrant and beautiful all at the same time. There’s an artist that can embrace all of this with her music. I attended Brandi Carlisle’s Atlanta concert last week, even made it a stay-cation-out of it which totally upleveled the experience.

I have felt led to ask this question of myself and of clients and the women I’m creating community with: Where can you be fierce with yourself and where can you be soft?

I mean look at this photo

This beautiful woman, so fierce and so beautifully tender and human. If you know any of her lyrics you know what I’m talking about. I realized this week that she wrote a memoir and I can’t wait to listen to her book (she includes songs in reading her audio book, yes please)

Of course, one of her favorite songs for me right now is Human. She and her entire band got tattoos of the word human in Atlanta. That just delights me that her band did that while in my city.

Listen, I know you have challenges that no one sees, heartbreak that you might be keeping to yourself. And I know this. You will benefit from treating yourself well both with fierceness and softness Fiercely taking actions that you know are for you, are part of your dreams and part of living well. But I encourage you to also lean into softness when life hits you hard, when it just feels like too much.

What is one fierce step that honors the most alive part of you right now?

Where can you be soft with yourself and allow yourself some space?

I have spent much of my life being way too strong for my own good, over functioning and thus overriding my own needs. At first, I didn’t even know what I wanted. You mean that’s an option–to want what you want?

Now even in the toughest of spaces I’m learning to lean into what I most desire and dream it and embody it, to actually feel what it is like to live in that dreamy space. Some call it manifestation, it’s what I call is being fully alive.

You’re only human and you’re fucking amazing,

Diana

P.S. If you are looking for community and a space where you can be your full fierce and soft self, you’ll love the gatherings I’ve created for women a couple of times a month. The Leader’s Table Women’s Gathering info is right here.

P.S.S. I work with fierce, brave people that are finding that their self judgment and previous ‘push through’ tactics aren’t working anymore. You can experience group support and some coaching right here at the Leader’s Table Pivot Workshops. Would love to have you there. CLICK HERE FOR INFO AND REGISTRATION
