Success…..why YOUR definition is so important
I’m a little lighter on words this week but I wanted to share something that is SO important for people that are great leaders and achievers.
What do you definite as success, in your life, in your business?
I’ve gotta tell you when I look at what success meant to me in my early business building days vs now, it’s wildly different.
How about you?
When I started my coaching practice, I realized how tied I was to what other’s defined as success. I was the high Achiever A student, top sales leader so I loved being in spaces where I could measure my results aka success easily.
Of course I was the coach who started her business from scratch that immediately looked to others to tell me what was success. Wow, was that a journey. I quickly saw a 6 figure year as success and beat myself up when I didn’t hit that even when I missed by $3,000.
Through all the experiences I have been through in the 15 years: empty nesting, starting a business, navigating a pandemic, divorce, becoming a grandparent, getting married again. Success really looks different and I love how I have dropped looking to others to define it for me.
Today success is:
Creating a community this year of fellow women founders/leaders, epic, powerful conversations.
After too many months apart, my granddaughter leaning into me in my lap and hanging for such a sweet time.
Laughing my *ss off on the daily with my husband.
Having a sweet relationship with my 96 year old mom. She is my support and I love that my spunkiness came from her.
Oh there's more. I know that through my years as a coach I have built something powerful and I can’t wait to see what’s next…..
