Have you ever wondered how big stage speakers do it and don’t look nervous? OK, yes they practice their speeches over and over but if you don’t think they’re nervous, you’re wrong.  They have simply learned to manage their nerves.

As a business owner, you aren’t getting on a big stage every day and making powerful speeches but in a way you are.  You’re  having powerful conversations with clients and potential clients all day long.  You might be stepping out in new ways as you market your company, interviewing on podcasts, writing industry articles, posting videos.  All the steps needed to help your business to grow.

How do you show up for the tough moments in your day? The ones that are really nerve racking? How do you really step into your day powerfully even though you had 4 hours of sleep and had a fight with your partner or kids this morning?

This process is designed to help you to handle that normal nervous chatter our mind offers for the day and instead of ignoring, know how to honor it so you can step into what you really need mentally for the day.

How do you apply mindset and get what you really need for the day?

The mindset practice I’m teaching you today is transformative and so easy to apply.

You do this By creating a new awareness of your thoughts and by choosing what you really need energy wise/or emotionally for that day.  It is simple and much more effective than cheering yourself on everyday (although I highly recommend that as well). This is a process of being aware of all of your thinking and giving your mind an opportunity to shift towards what you want to be thinking and feeling on a particular day or during a particular moment.

I actually do this most mornings or I stop and go through this when I’m really distracted and nervous.  OK, Journal in one hand and calendar in the other.

Get present, sit down for a minute and just breathe.

These are your questions:

What am I feeling right now?  Write them all down.  Not just the good ones.

What are the 3 emotions that are at play right now?

Also, what are the first thoughts that come to your mind?   Some will feel related to your emotions/feelings, some won’tWhat is on your mind, again don’t filter it.

All you’re looking for here is awareness.

NOW

What do I need today or for this particular meeting?   What would I like to be feeling right now?

What do I need to be thinking to create that?

Big presentation today.

Worried, nervous, excited.

It might not go well, they will say no.

I’ve worked so hard.

I need this client right now!

Now, how do you want to be feeling during this presentation?

Calm, Insightful, confident

I have done all of the work.

This is my expertise.

I’m looking forward to serving my client with this new proposal.

This has changed everything for me.  WHY?  I had become a pro at ignoring nervous, and negative emotions.  They would ride along while I was trying to be positive and confident all of the time.

Ignoring those thoughts that create our nervousness, our worry and even fear.  Need AIR.  when we let them ride underneath, they have more of an effect than we realize.

We end up using all of our energy to push away the nerves VERSUS spending time in a powerful, strong space.

This is how you create resilience and might I say a stronger version of yourself.  This is how we grow from handling the current level of business we have to being able to handle even more.

The results are incredible.  I’m watching them in the real with my clients.

My biggest bottom line.  Do not be afraid to look at the thoughts that are creating nasty, nervous emotions.  They are simply coming from thoughts in your mind.  They aren’t innocent.  They have an effect.

They don’t need to be pushed away, that can make them intensify.  Think of them just needing some air so you can see what your mind is up to and you can choose the thoughts that you WANT for the day.

This has changed everything for me.  It helps me to show up powerfully (while still being a bit nervous) and more authentically (which makes the work seem much more fluid and enjoyable)

This is a quick process.  I use it daily, it helps my mind stay focused and clear.

I use it when I’m all stressed out and still have work to do in the middle of the day.

How am I feeling?

What are my top of mind thoughts?

What do I need today?

How do I want to feel?

What would I need to think to feel that way today?

Give it a try.  It works best if you stay curious…..

As a business owner, you have a lot coming at you, give yourself this gift, this mindset strength that you need and deserve.  This is how you create your own resilience.

Your brain works fast. 10 minutes to create what you want one thought at a time.

What can you create?  What deals will you close? What new venture will you lead powerfully with this practice?

Let me know.
