I help business owners who have reached the level of success where business is happening TO them. I help them stop overworking and stay in growth – for themselves, their team, their clients and their lives.

As I plan my networking and appointment calendar, I’ve been asking this question this year.  Am I spending time in the RIGHT rooms for me and for my business?

As a solo business owner (with a FINE virtual team of support) I realized this week that what has propelled my business this past year is making sure I’m in 2 types of rooms.

First, I am  spending time where my truly ideal clients and those that serve my ideal clients are spending time.

Next, I am spending some time in rooms that inspire me, that nurture me.

I love networking.  I could easily fill my entire week with events, zoom calls, and coffee dates. But too much of this burns me out and takes me out of what my genius is: coaching.

As our businesses evolve, the rooms that we are in evolve as well and I think it is really important to continue to ask these questions:

Am I showing up sharing my full expertise or am I hiding a bit?

Get into rooms where your ideal client is hanging out and SHOW UP!  My coach noticed my thinking around a group that I knew was great for my business and asked, Diana, are you sitting on the sidelines a bit?  Yes I was!  I could feel the energy of waiting vs stepping in and collaborating and being of full service to others.

Am I investing some time being in rooms where fellow owners/entrepreneurs are sharing the real struggle but are there to cheer you on and lift you up. There is a group I attend as often as possible that is sponsored by another coach. We are honest about our struggles, we celebrate with full hearts and I always walk away super motivated around my business.

I do think spending time in the right rooms that provide growth for us will take a bit of courage.  AND this is the reason more than ever to invest in 2 rooms, one where you show up bravely and powerfully for your business AND one that supports you and helps you to process the real ups and downs of being a business owner.
