This is for you if the joy you had in building this business has been stolen because you’re overwhelmed by the day-to-day work of the business. This is all about taking a step back and investing in vision-casting for your business, taking action from that place of goal-setting, and using a very focused approach to tackle what lies ahead.
This is all about driving the engine of the business instead of riding along . . .leading vs reacting.
Yes, it is all about giving yourself permission to dream about what is possible.
In today’s episode, I’m going to cover what comes up in a lot of my coaching conversations with successful business owner clients. I find they often feel guilty that they have concerns because financially, everything is going well.
BUT, something is missing.
This is what I see: the business has a life of its own, and the early days of creating the business and holding a vision of how you want that business to look, are not syncing up with the current reality.
You’re in full reactive mode, overwhelmed with the work of the business.
I think it is critical for every owner, especially those who want to regret-proof their growth, to create an awareness for what I’m going to speak about today.
A good question can always illuminate the issue.
Are you still dreaming about what lies ahead?
Are you spending time thinking about what could be possible for your clients, for you, in the next 3 years?
Are you investing in brainstorming about the future?
Nothing like a successful business, full of transactions, clients, and day-to-day work to choke the ‘vision building’ part of you.
You did NOT go into business to be overworked and overwhelmed!!
If you’re starting to regret that beautiful business you built, THIS is for you today. The only thing that might be missing is giving your heart, soul and mind time to breath and space to create. This is where the fun resides.
How?
Make a Non-negotiable Commitment to spend time vision casting for your business. I recommend at least ½ a day every 90 days.
When you think about growth, where are the sticking points? What vision for the future do you need to take action on?
Improve your processes.
Try something new, something you really want to try this quarter.
Invest in your team. Do they need some support or time so they can receive your delegated tasks?
This is why every 90 days work so well. There are different facets of your business that will require your attention in each quarter. Right now, I’m on-boarding a new assistant. I’m really leaning in personally to how I want this to look, for her and for me. I’m onto myself when I hesitate delegating to her. But , I’m fired up just thinking about what we could create in the next 90 days if we take the time to work well together.
If I don’t give this the right attention and energy, we both just are task masters. Yuck, I did not create this beautiful coaching practice for that. I want all those that work in Diana Murphy Coaching to love what they do and contribute to amazing outcomes.
Don’t you want that same energy in your business?
Now true vision casting isn’t just the dreaming and intentional part– it also requires evaluation.
EVALUATE every 90 days as well.
What are your numbers?
Who did you love serving?
And my favorite because it always works:
What worked?
What didn’t?
Next?
CARVE OUT THE TIME: non-negotiable meeting between YOU and Your Business.
EVALUATE the previous 90 days before you get started.
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION DREAM-STORM in these meetings every quarter.
Rinse and Repeat.
This is LIFE giving, this is where you’ll be able to sit in the power seat of your business more confidently and create enjoyment from all the work you’re up to. I promise.
Don’t allow the busy work to steal you from the vision you have for the future of your business.
Regret proofing is so easy if we lean into that creative futuristic part of ourselves on the regular.
This is where you find out what’s REALLY possible…for your business, and for your customers.
Far-fetched ideas are not so far-fetched when you start taking action on them now.
