‘I wrote an inspirational quick note a few weeks ago. I want to ask, are you writing yourself encouraging messages, thinking inspirational and dreamy thoughts about your business?
I sure hope you are and I want to remind you these thoughts have a very powerful and positive effect on your business and your own well-being.
We really have been taught in our culture to not be braggy, boastful or even dreamy about our futures. But this does NOT serve you as a business owner. This keeps you safe and may I say can create a bit of misery in the running of your business.
There are a lot of emotions and thoughts that keep you playing safe. Safety does not equal growth or and doesn’t create a lot of genuine satisfaction in the hard work we’re doing.
Did you know that there isn’t a Thought Police? No one is checking on you and deciding if those visions and dreams in your head are going to work. You can start thinking and building belief in whatever plans you have for your future. Don’t let old ‘safe’ voices and thoughts in your head stop you from dreaming and scheming about an amazing future.
BECAUSE what you think creates results, let’s blow our own minds this year.
Want to stop playing it safe? Just notice when you talk yourself out of a great idea. Notice when you say things, well, that’s not for me, good for them, but not for me. Notice when you’re actually taking steps towards a new idea and let some small circumstances or issue talk you out of continuing to move forward. It’s THESE sneaky thoughts that are stealing your dreams and preventing you from creating them.
I have a fun concept that helps to create a more routine practice of believing in your big goals.
*Super Thinking. Super thinking is a practice that Brooke Castillo my first coach/teacher taught me a year ago. This is all about putting your mind to work to not only build belief in big hairy goals but to continue to give you ideas on how to get there. And it’s actually pretty fun and very useful for a business owner that is always solving problems.
Are you brave enough to try it? I thought so.
The Practice of Super Thinking:
Plan for a 15 minute walk or an activity that is repetitive (sitting in a swing, being on a treadmill, taking a walk, throwing the ball for your dog).
Ask your mind an open question? What would it be like to make $_______? What is one step I could take today to create 3 new clients? What do my clients really need?
Choose your open ended question now and spend 15 minutes this week and see what your powerful, smart brain comes up with.
This is how to make your business building a LOT MORE FUN and EFFECTIVE.
