Quick side note If you love what you’re hearing, would you be so kind as to review and rate my podcast on iTunes and share it. Remember, let your fellow business owners know that this podcast is here for them.
Do you want more in your business? More clients, more profit, more money, more great team members…… OK who doesn’t, seems like a silly question but if you knew the key to creating more momentum, more growth in your business you would do it, right?
Start celebrating. Start celebrating everything that IS happening FOR you everything that is good and amazing and it will be easier to create more of it. I don’t think it is possible to over do on this facet of mindset work. AND it is the most fun when you realize and remind your brain of THE amazing things you’re up to and doing on purpose.
Why don’t we do this more?
You and I are taught to be humble and not brag.
You might think that if you celebrate, you’ll stop and not do more.
You think that you have to wait until the big ending, to start celebrating.
Your mind works so fast, we just move onto the next thing.
Last but not least
You have underestimated the power of celebrating all of your brave actions, accomplishments and wins along the way in your business.
You just didn’t know…….. But Now You do and I encourage you to give it a try, in the way that works best for you. (We’ll talk about rituals or making this a habit in a minute)
So stop right now, what is your win? Seriously, if you can pause the podcast and say them out loud or write them down. (Yes this just might be the podcast that you listen to next to your journal–great idea by the way) But if you’re in the car please note what your wins are.
Own it, no matter how small.
Today I’m celebrating that I finished writing a previous podcast episode that I rewrote 3 times and then re-recorded 6 times and then redid it AGAIN and doing that and persevering led me to writing and creating this one in just a few minutes.
I got dressed today, even wore normal shoes. If you’re listening to this in any other time than 2020 you’re going to understand how amazing that is!!!
I’m so proud and celebrating what my clients are doing: speaking up in an important meeting where the leadership roles are changing it was brave, making big decisions around systems they are using and how they communicate with their business partners, another is saying no to smaller listings because she loves and is really good at those RE listings around $1million. Another is winning because she isn’t beating herself up for not having it all done but is so proud of what she created in a relaunch of her business.
What are your wins?
Why is this so helpful and why is it important. Your brain will basically remember the last event you experienced. So it is Friday afternoon, you’re closing up for the week, and you just had a not so great conversation with an employee or you just received some bad news. You go into the weekend feeling like nothing is working. Your mind remembers and starts thinking, oh you had a horrible week but it isn’t true…….
INSTEAD of realizing you closed 3 new clients this week, started with a new assistant, you worked out most days and your kids love your new routine of taking breaks with them during the day.
There is a LOT right now. Our brain is picking up all of the evidence that is frankly, stressing most of us out.
Celebrating breaks this up.It disrupts, it turns our thoughts and mindset around.
I think where this recently got my attention is when I used celebrating WINS to start my group coach calls. OMG, everyone could not wait to share, it created an amazing connection between all of us on the call and it fired me up for the rest of the day.
What are your wins? And how are you going to make this a routine?
Make your own personal rituals that are tailored for your business and rhythm.
I started something this year that I’m not realizing until now that it is part of my Win’s practice. I started using Profit 1st bookkeeping and I hired a new accountant to help manage that tax side of things as I make more money in my business. Well, you better believe I am watching that Profit line and I started this practice before the clients were rolling in as regularly and you better believe it helped my momentum there.
I am thrilled to say as a solo business owner that I am building my profit for a special family trip and have paid myself a salary now for 3 months. What you measure, what you celebrate you will create more of and I can literally see this work for me.
The brain looks for evidence of any particular thought. When you celebrate something that is important to you and your business, your mind will look for more ways to create just that. THIS creates momentum, celebrating creates powerful positive emotion that gives us the energy we need to do more.
Decide what your ritual is when you bring in a new client. Take time to stop and celebrate. Decide how to close out your week, noting the wins on Fridays before you launch into the weekend. Close your day with a gratitude practice noting not only what you’re grateful for but also what your 3 wins were.
